Afternoon Procession
Good Friday

The midday procession is tragic. Barefoot penitents in purple carry skulls and drag large crosses. Men and women bear statues of Jesus wearing the Crown of Thorn, the sorrowing Virgin, among others. Little girls dressed as angels carrying various symbols of the Passion. At the conclusion there in a dramatic encuentro or meeting of Christ and his Mother as the procession ends in front of the Parroquia.
