OAXACA RADISH FESTIVAL TRAVEL WORKSHOP December 19 - 27, 2008      Oaxacan Christmas Photographic Tour with Jo Brenzo Photography for professionals and amateurs confident with their cameras. Participants receive shooting instruction, photographic tips for special shooting situations, and lectures relating to photography in Oaxaca, as well as four shooting field trips to surrounding villages. Participants will receive: Field trips to outlying pueblos and special events Shooting instruction and demonstrations Class time for working, sharing and critiquing 24 hour access to classroom – located in hotel Photographic information for special shooting situations Lectures relating to photography in Oaxaca A private “critique/problem solving session” with Jo Brenzo Free time alotted for self-selected activities or tour ACCOMMODATIONS Reservations have been made at the Hotel Marques del Valle on the central square
WORKSHOP INFORMATION
Christmas in Oaxaca is a magical time for all ages, with candlelit holiday parades and colorful street festivals. Highlighting the season is the spectacular Night of the Radishes, a festival dating back to 1897. Self-taught Oaxacan artists are judged for their ability to carve religious, political and animal figures from giant radishes. On the Oaxacan Holiday Photo Tour, you will tune vacation photography skills in morning shooting sessions with Jo Brenzo, director of the Academia de Fotografía in San Miguel de Allende and a faculty member of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes "El Nigromante". Afternoons and evenings are free to participate in Oaxacan holiday festivities with friends and family.
