Christmas in Oaxaca is a
magical time for all ages, with candlelit holiday parades and colorful
street festivals.
Highlighting the season is the spectacular Night of the Radishes, a
festival dating back to 1897. Self-taught
Oaxacan artists are judged for their ability to carve religious,
political and animal figures from giant radishes.
On the Oaxacan Holiday Photo Tour, you will tune vacation photography
skills in morning shooting sessions with Jo Brenzo, director of the
Academia de Fotografía in San Miguel de Allende and a faculty
member of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes "El Nigromante".
Afternoons and evenings are free to participate in Oaxacan holiday
festivities with friends and family.

Oaxacan Christmas Photographic Tour with Jo Brenzo
Jo Brenzo is the owner and director of the Academia de Fotografía in San Miguel de Allende and a faculty member of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes "El Nigromante", Mexico's national art school. She majored in Photography through the fine arts department of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Her work has been exhibited throughout the USA, Europe and Latin America. Jo has taught photography since 1979 and has conducted a dozen workshops in Mexico, including
four Oaxaca workshops.
Photography for professionals and amateurs confident with their cameras. Participants receive shooting
instruction, photographic tips for special shooting situations, and lectures relating to photography in Oaxaca, as well as four shooting field trips to surrounding villages.
